Did you know that we loan activity bags?
We have several activity bags that you can borrow to take home to use with your child? Each bag contains equipment, a method and a home observation sheet. If you would like to borrow one of the packs please ask the office staff. The bags are individually designed for our different age ranges.
Did you know that we have a designated SENCO?
Gareth Hadley (based in 3-4 room) has been trained in special educational needs and is on hand to support both children and families. If you feel that your child may need additional support with speech, behaviour or if your child has been diagnosed with a specific disorder, Gareth can help with coordinating meetings, completing necessary paperwork, assist with referrals and attend review meetings along with you.
Did you know that we have a Birthday Bee?
Bertie, our birthday bee is available for your child to borrow to share their special day with. Why not take him home on your child’s birthday. All we ask is that upon his return, you bring photos of Bertie and your child enjoying their time together.
Did you know that we ask for a small contribution towards the cost of snack?
Your child can ‘feed’ the dinosaur their pennies for snack each time they arrive at nursery. You’ll find him situated in our foyer.
Did you know that we have a designated safeguarding lead?
Lisa Burgin (manager) has been specifically trained to help support children and families who feel that they may be in need of advice or support including advice around mental illness, domestic abuse or guidance around a child in need. Lisa can accompany families to meetings, arrange further professional support and follow up any concerns around a child or family’s safety. If you are worried about the welfare and safety of a child and/ or a parent, you should speak to Lisa. Your concerns will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
Did you know that we have ‘craft at home’ activities?
These activities are fun ideas to take home and enjoy with your child. Each leaflet contains a list of equipment needed, a method and a list of possible goals that could be achieved from engaging with the activity. The leaflets are situated outside 2-3 room and (for younger children) outside the baby room.
Did you know that all our staff team hold a minimum level 3 childcare qualification?
Our highly qualified team also include 2 members with EYTS, 1 with PGCE with QTS, 2 with a level 5 & 1 with a level 4. In addition, all staff hold a food safety awareness certificate are first aid trained and 95% are trained in Makaton signing.
